Dive Innovations introduces
the Ultimate Tank Valve Dust Cap.

Unlike vinyl caps, ours is injection molded from a tough thermoplastic elastomer that incorporates excellent memory while providing convenient flexibility. This manufacturing process enables us to incorporate some unique features such as integrated finger grips that provide excellent holds for easy removal, especially with cold or wet fingers.

For those divers with multiple tanks and storeowners that have numerous rentals, there is an arrow molded into the top surface of the cap that can be used for signifying full or empty tank. Simply point the arrow towards the valve knob if your tank is full and away from the valve when empty or vise versa. This offers a convenient way to quickly tell if that tank in the corner is ready for a dive or needs a fill, while protecting the o-ring and valve orifice. Click image at right for feature details.

The valve cap comes with a tough nylon lanyard and is offered in 4 colors: Blue, Black, Yellow and Green. Other colors may become available in the near future. Store owners or catalogs, there is ample room on two sides for logos and graphics.

The patented Tank Buoyancy Compensator (T.B.C) is a supplementary, five pound ditchable weight system that is located on the bottom of your scuba tank to offset the positive buoyancy affects incurred by air usage throughout a dive. Often, the positive buoyancy generated by the diver's scuba tank will force the divers head down into the water, causing not only discomfort during the scuba dive, but creating a safety risk as well. The tank integrated design of the T.B.C. provides a compact, streamlined, and safe weight system for strategically positioning ballast at a point that maximizes its effects while minimizing the risks encountered when using an unweighted tank. In many cases, a diver can reduce or in some cases eliminate the amount of weight on his or her belt or B.C., thus increasing comfort and safety. In addition to being the ultimate tank ballast system, the T.B.C. doubles as a protective tank boot.

The tank end mounted ballast system locates the weight in the most effective location, providing maximum balance while serving as a protector for the bottom of the tank. With the new back floatation buoyancy compensators, the problem of staying upright on the surface is reduced by having the weight located at the bottom of your tank. This causes your body to become more upright on the surface of the water thus promoting comfort and safety.

Current models employ weights that are fixed to the upper third of the tank's exterior diameter which does not locate the weight in the most effective location for ballast purposes nor does the mounting method allow the weight to be released in an emergency. Furthermore, divers utilizing current systems would still need to purchase tank boots to protect the bottom of their scuba tank. Although current devices exist and the Tank buoyancy Compensator is a new product in an already equipment intensive sport, the benefits obtained by its design far outweigh anything currently available.

Recent improvements include a flexible, break resistant release handle and a stronger retaining pin.

The T.B.C. is manufactured using corrosive resistant materials and engineered to provide maximum performance and safety throughout it's life.

The Tank Buoyancy Compensator is available for all 7 1/4 inch diameter scuba tanks, most commonly the 80 and 63 cu. ft. aluminum tanks.
